Dollar Subs.

A few days ago subs were $1 at Jimmy Johns. In other news, I got bangs.
I successfully puzzled an Australian native one time by complementing her on her “Bangs”. She smiled awkwardly, pondered it for a moment and then asked me what I was talking about. “They are cute!” I replied. “I want some!” …more puzzled looks. “Your baa-aaangs,” I said, more pronounced, raising my voice slightly (since saying something louder will accommodate understanding?). Still we weren’t making any progress. I gave it one more go. “I love your bangs!!!” this time with more enthusiasm, ending with a big smile and hand gestures.
Fringe. Yes fringe is what the Aussies call them…most Europeans as well. Which if you ask me makes much more sense. Where did we ever get the term bangs anyways?
